Overview



ACAMH East Anglia branch would like to invite CAMHS professionals as well as professionals working in other mental health settings to this Mindfulness Master Class. This workshop will provide an opportunity to experience mindfulness and to consider why and how to include mindfulness in your therapeutic work with children and families.

The teaching will encompass:

– An experiential and theoretical understanding of mindfulness
– Rationale for including mindfulness in work with children and families
– A review of relevant research in the field

The workshop will be suitable for practitioners who work therapeutically with children and who preferably have some existing knowledge of mindfulness. This is a practical and experiential workshop and in order to maximise learning the numbers will be limited to 35.

To be covered on the day:

– Experiential introduction to mindfulness practices with children
– Practical ways to introduce mindfulness to children in therapeutic settings
– Choosing appropriate interventions
– Collegial discussion of sample case work

About the speaker

Eluned Gold is a teacher and trainer of mindfulness-based approaches at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University. She is a qualified psychotherapist who has been working with children and families for ten years. During this time she has been incorporating mindfulness into her therapeutic work. Eluned has also adapted Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), for parents in stressful situations.
